This Valentines Day, the most popular video game and the most popular social network are finally hooking up: Angry Birds and Facebook.

This Valentines Day, the most popular video game and the most popular social network are finally hooking up: Angry Birds and Facebook.

Finnish game maker Rovio will hold a launch event for the long-awaited Facebook version of the game February 14 in Jakarta, Indonesia, says Penn Olson.

That location might surprise some, since neither company is based in Jakarta. But Indonesia ranks as the second largest market for Facebook, with 45 million users representing 86.7 percent of all online users in the country, according to comScore.

The game already has a fan page with more than 12.9 million Facebook fans, and there are 20 fake versions of Angry Birds on the platform, our peer site AppData indicates.

The 800 million downloads of Angry Birds have included versions of the app for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Symbian, Bada and even Sony’s Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable consoles.

And the rival social network Google Plus already has the game, making a Facebook version seem all the more overdue.
