Facebook users can now take 360 Photos directly from within the social network’s flagship applications, with no special cameras or other apps.
Users can also now zoom in on 360 Photos and tag friends, and 360 Photos can be uploaded as cover images for users’ profiles.
Facebook said in an email to Social Pro Daily that 70 million 360 Photos have been uploaded to the social network since the feature was introduced in June 2016.
360 Photos via the Facebook app began rolling out Wednesday to all iOS (iPhone) and Android users, and photos created via the new feature can be shared on users’ Timelines, in albums with other 360 Photos or regular photos and in groups.
Facebook provided the following instructions for users with access to the new feature:
- Open the Facebook app and click the 360 Photo option from the top of your News Feed where you update your status.
- Press the blue button and follow the path from start to finish until you’ve taken a complete panorama.
- Select your preferred starting view within the photo and share.
