If you are an iPhone owner in the U.S., you need to fork over $1.99 to buy the CNN App for iPhone. However, if you are an iPhone owner outside of the U.S., you can get the international version of the app for free. What’s up with that?

The app can be personalized to follow topics, has a user-generated iReport section, provides headlines (of course), and a video-on-demand selection of clips.
