Changes Atop AOL

AOL shook up its top ranks, eliminating the positions of chief operating officer and executive vice president for access, business intelligence and new ventures Kim Partoll and acting head of search and local media John Kannapell and mounting a search for a “world-class CMO [chief marketing officer],” paidContent:UK reported.

In addition, Brad Garlinghouse, who joined AOL last week as president of Internet and mobile communications from Yahoo!, will oversee mobile; new chief financial officer Artie Minson will oversee access and business intelligence; CEO Tim Armstrong’s chief of staff, Maureen Sullivan, will be in charge of marketing; AOL Advertising head Jeff Levick will oversee search; and former Patch CEO Jon Brod will handle local and mapping as part of running AOL Ventures, according to paidContent:UK.
