Can User-Generated Video Be Useful?

Beet.TV held an Online Video Roundtable earlier this month, and one of the main topics touched upon was if user-generated content, including video from YouTube Direct, can be valuable for the Google-owned video service’s launch partners, which include The Washington Post, NPR, Politico and The Huffington Post.

The panel included YouTube manager of news Olivia Ma; NPR head of multimedia Keith Jenkins; editor in chief Dan Farber; Slate head of video Bill Smee; NBC News Washington, D.C., bureau chief Mark Whitaker; Guardian CEO Caroline Little; and Jeff Whatcott of Brightcove.
