People using Twitter’s Periscope livestreaming application can now add guests to their broadcasts.

Livestreamers can invite anyone in their audiences to join their broadcasts, and those guests will be heard by all viewers. They can drop off at any time.

Here’s how it works, according to Periscope.

Broadcasters must tap the icon with the two heads on their pre-broadcast screens in order to enable the feature.

Those who want to invite viewers can cap the icon and tap Invite Guests

To add guests during a livestream, broadcasters can tap the icon and then tap the plus sign next to the names of viewers they want to add. Once those guests join, their avatars appear on-screen, and they can be heard by everyone viewing the livestream.

Guests can be removed at any time by tapping the X on their avatars. Once this is done, broadcasters can take actions including viewing their profiles, muting them or blocking them, via the X next to the removal confirmation.

Broadcasters who no longer want guests on a livestream can tap the icon, select Guest List and tap Don’t Allow Guests.

Viewers of a livestream can ask to join as a guest by tapping the icon and then tapping Ask to Join, or directly via the chat message that will appear when a broadcaster requests invites.

Periscope cautioned that entire broadcasts may be removed if a guest violates its community guidelines, and the broadcaster may face account penalties in some cases.
