Barnes & Noble Announces Teacher Of The Year

Debbie Davis from Christian Heritage School in Riverdale, Utah has been named as “Teacher of the Year” in the “Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher Contest.” Davis’ student Emily Burns nominated her in an essay.

Davis, who was chosen from more than 18,250 entries at Barnes & Noble stores nationwide, will receive $5,000 at an event at her local Barnes & Noble store.  Her school gets $5,000 and a free author visit from children’s book author Laurie Halse Anderson.

Davis also gets five copies of Burns’ essay published in hardcover by, a website where students create and publish their own books, as well as a $250 Tikatok gift card. Local and regional winners will win Nooks for themselves and their schools.
