AOL to Insert Audio Ads on Moviefone

AOL plans to insert audio ads during calls to its movie listings service Moviefone sometime this fall through a partnership with the voice recognition company Apptera.

The plan, according to AOL, is to better monetize the 40 million annual calls from consumers to Moviefone (through the phone number 777-FILM). Using Apptera, the company says it can deliver contextually relevant audio ads based on factors such as which movies callers request information on to where they are located.
