2TB (as in trillions of bytes) in Flash Memory Card? Someday…

I was just thinking the other day how amazing it is that we can buy 8GB SDHC flash storage cards for such reasonable prices these days. And, 8GB is not that large in the scheme of things. Amazon lists a SanDisk 64GB SDXC card for $208. That is expensive but not beyond the budget of someone who really needs a lot of storage in a very compact form. So, what’s next in the way of flash storage for your mobile gadgets? 128GB? How about 2TB (as in terrabyte)? That’s what Engadget reports is in the product development queue.
