Many people who stammer face ridicule and stigma throughout their lives, causing some to try to hide it. A new campaign from STAMMA (the British Stammering Association) attempts to strip the shame away from the condition and bring it out into the open, by artistically capturing people mid-stammer.
Created by agency VMLY&R London, “It’s How We Talk” marks International Stammering Awareness Day Oct. 22 and aims to normalize stammering in a culture that typically portrays it as something to be cured, covered up or mocked.
