As the Covid-19 pandemic drives women out of the workforce at unprecedented levels, Verizon Business plans to launch a mentorship network, training resources and a small business support campaign aimed at providing tools and aid for women who own small businesses.

The initiative will kick off with a social media campaign next week encouraging people to shop at women-owned small businesses with the hashtag #WomenOwnWednesday. Timed around International Women’s Day, the announcement is also accompanied by the release of a survey Verizon Business commissioned from research firm Morning Consult that sought to gauge the issues that women are facing at work during the pandemic and their most common reasons for leaving their jobs.
