To show solidarity with the AAPI community following recent acts of violence and racism, ecommerce platform Shopify has added a directory of Asian-owned businesses to its Shop app.
This follows a directory highlighting Black-owned businesses, which Shopify added to its app in July 2020 to “support more voices in entrepreneurship, democratize commerce and reduce the barriers to starting a business for everyone.”
The platform also launched a directory for women-owned businesses in March 2020 for International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.
The latest directory includes 60 Asian-owned businesses such as Material, Blume, Asian American Girl Club and tidying expert Marie Kondo’s KonMari brand.
