The technology industry is still the largest source of revenue in the U.S. for public relations agencies, according to the Council of PR Firms. And with the sector making a comeback on Wall Street, the “emerging technology” category continues to attract top PR executives.

The latest is Marijean Lauzier, former president and CEO of Interpublic Group’s Weber Shandwick, who launches Racepoint Group today. The Cambridge, Mass.-based PR and marketing shop will focus on emerging-technology, healthcare and science companies.

Racepoint, whose 12 staffers come from a variety of client and agency backgrounds, opens with several accounts, including Excel Switching Corp.,
