With the sun about to set on the summer of 2019, we wanted to toast the drink of the season: hard seltzer.

But with so many now on store shelves, how can you tell the difference between the refreshing and the revolting? Well, leave it to us. We gathered several Adweek staffers—some of whom have never tried spiked seltzer—to taste test eight of the hottest and newest brands on the market. The legacy brands we tested included Natural Light Seltzer, Pabst Blue Ribbon Stronger Seltzer, Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer and Svedka Spiked Premium Seltzer.

Among the newer brands of hard seltzer were Arctic Summer (from Polar Beverages), Bon & Viv (from Anheuser-Busch), Truly (from Boston Beer) and White Claw (from Mark Anthony Brands).

Check out the results of our taste test, and drink responsibly this Labor Day weekend. And remember, there are still laws when you’re drinking Claws.
