Topolewski Named Chairman of Chemistri

CHICAGO Publicis Groupe’s Chemistri has named Gary Topolewski chairman, a title he adds to his role as chief creative officer.

Topolewski replaces Roger Haupt, who took the chairman’s job when Chemistri was created last March out of the former Troy, Mich., office of D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, to handle General Motors business.

Haupt remains president and chief operating officer of Paris-based Publicis Groupe.

Topolewski will work with Chemistri’s president and chief operating officer Patrick Sherwood and chief operating officer D. Stan Fields III.

Chemistri’s GM business includes the Cadillac, Pontiac and Goodwrench brands.
