These Brands Are Vying to Be the Best on Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and More

Check out the 2015 Shorty Awards finalists

As social media becomes an increasingly crowded field for marketers, forcing them to focus on channels important to their specific audiences, the industry's "best of the best" seems to be diversifying.

The Shorty Awards has grown from a Twitter-centric series of content awards to a digitally expansive effort honoring work across Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr and more. Today the awards show announces its finalists in each of its categories for 2015. 

New this year to The Shorty Awards are categories like, "Best Multi-Platform Campaign" and "Best Contest or Promotion."

Tellingly, the winners will be announced exclusively via Snapchat on March 23.

"One of the biggest trends we noticed was the rise of social good and philanthropy efforts among brands," Gregory Galant, co-founder of the Shorty Awards, told Adweek. "The 'Social Good Campaign' was one of our most-entered categories this year. Brands and agencies are recognizing that doing good and promoting social values as part of a brand strategy resonates with consumers."
