How common is racism against black people in the U.S.? The answer largely depends on the ethnicity of the person you ask. In a new Gallup survey, 56 percent of respondents said they believe anti-black racism is “widespread.” Among non-Hispanic-white respondents, a bare majority voiced that opinion (51 percent). Among black respondents, nearly four-fifths did so (78 percent).
