Publicis Healthcare Buys China’s Dreams Communication

Publicis Groupe bolstered its healthcare operations in China with the acquisition of Dreams Communication, which will be renamed Publicis Life Brands Dreams and become part of Publicis Healthcare Communications Group.

Dreams consists of Chinese agencies like Beijing Dreams Advertising and Beijing Dreams Zhiyang Communication. The Publicis Groupe healthcare unit has three major global brands, Saatchi & Saatchi Health, Publicis Life Brands and Publicis Healthware International. As new acquisitions are made, they are typically folded into one of those entities.

PHCG has made emerging markets an expansion priority. Dreams is the second acquisition it has made in the Asia Pacific region this year; in March the unit acquired Watermelon in India.

Dreams was founded in 2003 and employs nearly 50 people. The agency provides advertising and design, digital, medical education, and event planning services to pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. Those global and regional marketers include Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Xian-Janssen, Beijing FH Land and the Ministry of Culture of China.

Bin (Simon) Sun remains at the helm of dreams and will assume the title of managing director, Publicis Life Brands Dreams, along with Kathy Zhao, who becomes general manager at the agency.
