PSAs Honored With Emmys

NEW YORK The American Legacy Foundation’s “Shards ‘O Glass” TV spot was among the winners of the National Television Academy’s public and community service Emmy Awards, the organization revealed at a presentation Friday evening.

The organization honors three public service announcements each year: one local, one national and one for a PSA in a sponsored commercial.

“Disclaimer,” for the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation by TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York, won the local award.

“Shards ‘O Glass,” by Arnold in Boston and Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami for the American Legacy Foundation’s “Truth” campaign, won the national award.

The award for a PSA in a sponsored commercial went to “Booze It Enforcement: Kick a Bear,” for the Governor’s Highway Safety Office/Tennessee Department of Transportation and Chandler Ehrlich of Piranha Pictures in Nashville.

The ceremony took place on Friday and will be televised in New York on WYNC-TV 25 on Oct. 28.
