Steve Williams, the president of Omnicom media network PHD in New York, is moving over to WPP’s Maxus as CEO of North America.

He replaces Louis Jones, who is retiring according to the GroupM agency.

Williams, who will join Maxus on June 1, moved to New York two years ago to take on the PHD role after serving as CEO of OMD Group in the U.K.  In his new post at Maxus, Williams reports to Maxus global chief Vikram Sakhuja and GroupM North America CEO Kelly Clark.

Maxus, launched in 2008, has grown quickly in recent years and in 2012 was named Adweek’s U.S.
