Omnicom Reports Solid Q4 Growth

NEW YORK Strong top-line growth pushed Omnicom’s fourth-quarter profit 10 percent higher to $221.3 million, with diluted earnings per share increasing 8 percent to $1.17 a share, the company reported today.

Worldwide revenue jumped 18.3 percent to $2.5 billion. Domestic revenue rose 15 percent to $1.3 billion while international operations rung up a 22 percent increase to $1.2 billion. Organic revenue, excluding currency exchange and acquisitions, rose 7.6 percent.

For the year ended Dec. 31, the New York-based holding company reported a 5 percent increase in profits to $675.9 million, with diluted earnings per share rising 4 percent to $3.59 a share. Global revenue surged 14.4 percent to $8.6 billion, helped by a 10 percent increase in domestic revenue, totaling $4.7 billion and a 20 percent hike in international revenue to $3.9 billion. Organic revenue grew by 4.6 percent.

Omnicom also raised its quarterly dividend 13 percent to 22.5 cents a share, payable April 2 to shareholders of record as of March 5.
