At an agencywide meeting Friday morning, Tro Piliguian, chairman of Ogilvy & Mather North America, told staff that the WPP shop is innocent of charges that it improperly billed its ONDCP client—and that its other clients are expressing support. Publicly, most of those—including American Express, Ameritrade, Cisco Systems, IBM, Kimberly-Clark, Miller Brewing Co. and Sprite—had no comment last week.

Sources said many clients have discussed the issues raised by last week’s indictments against TBWA\Chiat\Day president Shona Seifert, formerly senior partner and executive group director at Ogilvy, and finance director Thomas Early, who resigned last week.
