Ogilvy to Reshape Charity’s Community Image

BOSTON WPP’s Ogilvy Public Relations has been chosen by the United Way of America as its lead public relations agency.

“Through its work for the United Way on a variety of projects, Ogilvy PR has demonstrated that it understands how the United Way is evolving to meet the tremendous rate of economic, social and political change occurring in the communities we serve,” said Cynthia Round, executive vice president of strategy and marketing at the United Way. “Ogilvy PR can help us reposition United Way from fundraiser to community change agent. It’s a pleasure to have them on our team.”

The Washington, D.C., office of Ogilvy Public Relations will handle all PR chores for the national headquarters of the charitable organization in Alexandria, Va.

“We are excited to be part of the United Way of America’s effort to lead the philanthropic community as they confront the nation’s most pressing issues,” said Robert Mathias, managing director of Ogilvy PR’s Washington office.

The United Way movement includes about 1,400 community-based organizations.
