Ogilvy Boosts Linda Garrison To Managing Director Role

At Ogilvy & Mather’s office here, Linda Garrison has been promoted to the new post of managing director.
Garrison is one of four managing partners who have overseen the office since last year’s departure of president Derek Carstens. The managing partners will report to Garrison; she, in turn, will report to Tom Hall, chairman and chief executive officer here.
Garrison, who joined Ogilvy in 1995 from Euro RSCG Tatham, will continue to manage the office’s keystone Sears, Roebuck & Co. account, and work on business development.
The managing partners are Kathleen Brookbanks, who manages the finance area; Barbara Elmendorf, who oversees account planning; and Myron Lyskanycz, who heads up new business. Marlena Peleo-Lazar joined the management team as deputy executive creative director in April.
“My thinking in creating the Managing Partner Operating Team approach last year was to gather our best, key people to manage the agency and not bring in someone from outside,” said Hall. “I wanted to see if, as they worked together as a team, a leader would emerge from within. Linda has earned their respect and earned the role as managing director.”
