Narrowstep, BIG Launch MAC Experience

NEW YORK Narrowstep, a broadband video technology company, has forged a partnership with the independent media company Breakthrough Interactive Group (BIG) to launch MAC Experience, a martial arts-themed network on the Web. is scheduled to go live on July 7. The new Web site will feature both original video content tied to martial arts, along with documentaries, competitions and instructional footage. According to executives, the network’s look and feel will be contemporary, focusing on the health benefits of martial arts.

Executives at BIG said that while martial arts maintains a wide fan base in the U.S., with 120 million people identifying themselves as enthusiasts, launching such a network on TV had proven to be too limiting.

“We found that the traditional cable network model didn’t give us the global reach nor the interactive ability we wanted for the martial arts community,” said R. Anthony Cort, BIG’s founder, chairman and CEO.
