MediaCom Expands Roles of Mandel, Callas

NEW YORK Jon Mandel, co-CEO and chief negotiating officer of Grey Global Group’s MediaCom U.S., has been named to the newly created position of global buying officer, the company said.

Mandel will focus on maximizing the global clout of MediaCom’s multi-billion dollar buying efforts, according to a company representative.

As Mandel, 51, takes on his new role, the U.S. management responsibilities of Ariadne “Dene” Callas, 48, have been expanded. Callas, co-CEO and chief strategic officer, has been named to the new position of president of MediaCom U.S. She will focus more on the day-to-day management of the company’s American operations, the rep said.

Both executives retain their co-chief executive officer titles at MediaCom U.S.
