The magic of Christmas can fade as you get older, but McDonald’s wants to inject the season with more childhood wonder as it marks the fifth anniversary of its “#ReindeerReady” campaign.

Created by Leo Burnett London, the brand’s ad tells the story of the lifelong bond between a girl and her imaginary friend. Matilda invents the friend—a blue furry creature named Iggy—at Christmastime and it becomes her constant companion over the years, through festive rituals such as staging performances in the living room for her family and leaving out carrots for Santa’s reindeer.
