LLKFB Makes Management Changes

BOSTON Omnicom Group’s LLKFB has promoted Loreen Babcock, president and a founding partner of the direct marketing company, to chairman and CEO, the agency said.

Babcock takes the place of former chairman and CEO Bob Lieber, who left in October 2004 to start his own business [Adweek, Oct. 1, 2004]. Lieber was also a founding partner of LLKFB.

Since LLKFB’s founding in 1996, the New York shop has worked for a variety of clients but has mainly specialized in pharmaceutical accounts. In 2005, the agency hopes to “aggressively promote” its relevance to other industries such as financial services, automotive and packaged goods, according to Babcock. “It’s an exciting time for LLKFB,” she said.

“LLKFB is a great brand with a distinct position, solid track record and blue-chip clients,” said Thomas Harrison, chairman and CEO of Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services, in statement. “LLKFB is strategically important to Omnicom’s overall commitment to strengthen our CRM service offering to clients. Naming Loreen the chairman and CEO recognizes her invaluable contributions to the agency’s success and ensures that we can continue to capitalize on LLKFB’s distinct advantages as ‘behavior change experts’ and innovators in direct marketing.”

Meanwhile, founding partner and COO Harry Koenig has announced he is leaving the agency, effective Jan. 21. Koenig is planning to be a consultant to start-up companies.

David Finkel has joined the agency as president and COO, a new position. Prior to LLKFB, Finkel was chairman and CEO of Brann Worldwide. Finkel worked at Brann for 14 years. Prior to Brann, he held senior management positions at Ogilvy & Mather Direct.

“Clients are under tremendous pressure to grow their bottom lines and deliver a better customer experience,” said Finkel, in a statement. “LLKFB has made a science of understanding consumer behavior and translating this knowledge into innovative communications that build brands and drive sales. I’m excited about partnering with Loreen and the entire leadership team in driving the LLKFB brand forward and maximizing its value for our clients.”
