Leo Burnett Adds Creative Leader on P&G’s Always

Kat Gates has worked on several P&G brands

Kat Gates has joined Leo Burnett as a global creative director on Procter & Gamble's Always brand.

The position is new and helps to centralize creative leadership in Chicago, where she'll be based. She reports to Mark Tutssel, global chief creative officer. 

Burnett handles the pad and liner business for Always. The agency also used to work on P&G's Tampax, but lost that assignment last summer to Publicis. 

"We are thrilled to have a creative talent and celebrated visionary like Kat joining our network," said Tutssel, in a statement. "With Kat's leadership and her prolific creative ability I'm certain we have an exciting and successful road ahead." 

Most recently, Gates was a group cd at Publicis in New York, where she helped create campaigns for the 2012 Summer Olympics and Bounty paper towels, among other brands. She joined Publicis in 2008 and left in March; Since then, she has been freelancing.

Earlier in her career, Gates was a regional cd at Saatchi & Saatchi in Frankfurt, Germany, working on brands like Iams and Pampers.
