CHICAGO Amid complaints of deceptive advertising, KFC has ordered its national and local agencies to pull spots from Foote Cone & Belding that tout the nutritional value of the chain’s chicken, according to sources.
The campaign from the Interpublic Group shop, tagged “You’ve gotta KFC what’s cookin’,” broke on Oct. 28. One spot maintains that two KFC chicken breasts have less fat than a Burger King Whopper.
KFC’s agencies on Monday received a memo from the chain ordering that the ads be pulled, sources said.
