Former Wing Latino ECD Opens Shop

NEW YORK Roberto Alcazar, former executive creative director of Grey’s Wing Latino, has launched EO Agency, a company focused on branded entertainment.

Alcazar, who in May quit Wing Latino after almost three years, has partnered with Adria Jover Sala, a sculptor and video artist, on the new venture. EO Agency, which is based in New York, is already producing a documentary about the return of an immigrant to his native country after spending 10 years in the United States.

“[The documentary] will show the changes he has undergone, along with his native country,” Alcazar said.

Shot in both English and Spanish, the still unnamed film has the potential to evolve into a TV series, said Alcazar, though he would not disclose the names of potential clients for such a venture.

Also in the works is a CD with “chill out” music for luxury boutique hotel chain Zaza in Dallas and Houston.

The startup also plans an art festival toward the end of the year for which Alcazar and Sala are seeking sponsors.

Alcazar positions his new shop this way: “EO is not a Hispanic agency, but we are Hispanic. And everything we are doing right now, although it starts from the Hispanic point of view, is filtering and trickling into the general marketplace, much in the same way our culture does.”

Operating with four full-time employees, including Alcazar and Sala, and two part-time staffers, EO owes its name to the song “EO” by Mexican rock band Cafe Tacuba. “My lawyer was pressuring me over the phone to give him the name of the agency while I was listening to [that song],” Alcazar said.
