Expedia’s first Super Bowl ad in more than a decade is making its star Ewan McGregor all wistful about getting away for a bit. The online travel provider wants viewers to feel the same, even if it has to bribe them with rewards points to do so.
In a teaser clip offering a behind-the-scenes look at Expedia’s 30-second, first quarter ad, McGregor recounts childhood trips from Scotland to France in his parents’ car. He paints humans as a nomadic species with “itchy feet” that may have needed a good scratch during the pandemic.
