DirecTV, Kangaroo Team to Offer NFL

NEW YORK DirecTV has partnered with the Canadian-based mobile company Kangaroo TV to offer NFL fans the ability to view all of that Sunday’s available games while they are in attendance at select NFL stadiums.

Through a test launched on Sept. 24, fans attending the Miami Dolphins game were able to rent a Kangaroo TV mobile device for roughly $40.

On those devices, which are designed as larger, more rugged mobile phones, those fans could view whatever other NFL games interested them through DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket package.

Fans need not be DirecTV subscribers. Previously, Kangaroo TV had tested the in-stadium viewing option at both an NFL game and a Nascar event last year.

Going forward, Kangaroo TV devices will be available for rent at all Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins games for the rest of the season.

“Our goal is to redefine the spectator experience for all sports,” said Kangaroo TV CEO Marc Arseneau. “Moving beyond motorsports is something we’ve always intended to do and we cannot imagine a better way to start than with DirecTV and the NFL.”
