Taking its next big step into the world of wireless, Boston-based interactive agency, Digitas, announced on Thursday that it will be partnering with San Mateo, Calif.-based mobile infrastructure software and services provider AvantGo, Inc.

“AvantGo shares our conviction that information and technology can be used to create value at the point of need,” said Kathy Biro, vice chairman of Digitas.

Together, the two businesses will develop mobile marketing plans and applications, such as wireless and offline loyalty programs, promotions and other direct response campaigns and branding efforts using the AvantGo 4.0
