DDB’s ‘Big Game’ Scores in New York

DALLAS DDB picked up a silver WorldMedal for copywriting at last night’s New York Festivals International Radio Awards.

The Dallas shop’s radio spot for Dean Foods’ Dean’s Dip, called “The Big Game,” was the only entry from the Southwest to place in the competition.

Julie Bowman, associate creative director, was the copywriter on the spot, which was designed to increase brand awareness and sales by capitalizing on the Super Bowl as what the Omnicom shop calls “a heavy snacking occasion.”

Print, online sweepstakes, freestanding inserts and in-store merchandising supported the spot, which ran in January.

DDB’s Chicago office won the Grand Award and three golds at the competition for its Anheuser-Busch “Genius” campaign.
