Dallas Agency Shuffles Management Ranks

DALLAS Square One has realigned its management team, the agency said.

The team of president Ernie Capobianco, general manager Margaret Bonner, client service director Evan Meeks, and creative directors Kevin Sutton and Molly Davis had led the Dallas-based agency.

The new team will consist of Davis, Capobianco, director of promotions Mike Paley, director of business-to-business client services and partner Steve Maxfield, and director of strategic planning Jesse Bayer.

Bayer was previously a management supervisor; there had not been a director of strategic planning before. Maxfield was previously a partner.

Kevin Sutton is leaving the agency, according to Capobianco. Sutton could not be reached for comment.

The shop has begun a search for an executive creative director that would head creative of both Square One and Valentine Radford in Kansas City, Mo., which was acquired by Square One’s holding company, One Square, in December. “We need to be sure that we are consistently pushing the creative envelop and that we have the most talented people pushing it,” Capobianco said.

Bonner now works for the holding company without a defined title. She handles business development for Square One and works on strategy for the three agencies, she said. Capobianco is taking over Bonner’s previous responsibilities running the Dallas office.

Meeks is now director of new business and media at Southwest Media Group, the media arm of One Square.

The changes were announced to the agency on Friday. “We realized that our line people, those who interact with the client on a day-to-day basis, are best able to help us structure the agency to give our clients what they need,” Capobianco said.
