Christopher Thomas Welcomes Elfstrom Aboard

Gary Elfstrom has joined Christopher Thomas as director of business development, a new position.

Elfstrom will report to Leo Rice, president of the agency’s Boston office. He will be responsible for prospecting for new clients as well as evaluating current clients for enhanced advertising opportunities, Elfstrom said.

Prior to Christopher Thomas, Elfstrom was director of sales at Info Insomniax, a Web development company in Gloucester, Mass. Elfstrom started searching for new prospects after that company closed in November.

“I went to Tom Petrocine [one of the founders of Christopher Thomas] and spoke to him about creating the position,” said Elfstrom. He had known of 50-person Christopher Thomas because the agency had once pursued the Info Insomniax account.

“I looked at them and said to myself, this is somewhere I would like to work,” said Elfstrom.

Elfstrom is also charged with developing partnerships with technology vendors.

Partnerships have been formed with Cimetric, an Ohio-based company with a branch in Nashua, N.H., and Concentric Visions, Boston. Based on Elfstrom’s technology experience, the agency thought the partnerships were a logical way to bring new business into the company. The agency will partner with those Internet Service Providers on various client projects.

Founded in 1975, Christopher Thomas is a full-service marketing agency with offices in Boston, Melville, N.Y., and Stamford, Conn. Clients include New England School of Law, Cambridge Credit Counseling Service, Genzyme and Lowell General Hospital. Christopher Thomas recently signed a letter of intent of be acquired by Kupper Parker Communications.
