Chess Communications Group trumped the Wisconsin competition to register its first new-business win.

The Baltimore shop defeated four undisclosed Wisconsin contenders to land Menominee Casino Hotel’s $1-1.5 million advertising account.

“We were se-lected because of our experience in building successful brands such as Isle of Capri, Three Rivers and President Casinos,” said Chess chairman Bruce Iannatuono.

Chess will develop a television, radio, print and outdoor campaign for the Keshena, Wis., client, building upon the casino’s “Where winning comes naturally” positioning.

The resort, owned and operated by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, promotes itself as the first “Las Vegas-style casino” in the state.
