Troubled Wells Awaits Word From Heineken; Others ‘Wait And See’
NEW YORK-The embattled Wells BDDP here is facing nonroster competition for its Chase Manhattan business, sources said.
Frederick Hill, Chase’s executive vice president, corporate marketing and communications, last week began contacting shops, inviting them to pitch an unspecified project. Sources said the winning agency could be in line for Chase’s entire $40 million account.
The bank currently has its business split between Wells and McCann-Erickson here. “I don’t publicly comment unless a change in agency relationships occurs,” said Hill, who joined the company last September from McDonnell Douglas.
