NEW YORK Carat Interactive said it has promoted Jeremy Cornfeldt to replace Ron Belanger as vice president of search and affiliate marketing.

Cornfeldt, 33, was an account director at the Aegis Group interactive agency, working on search campaigns for clients such as Hyatt, Equifax and Register.com. He will lead Carat Interactive’s search-marketing work for AOL’s new portal, which will rely heavily on search ads to draw users.

Cornfeldt will be based in Carat Interactive’s Boston office and will report to Greg Smith, executive vice president of media insights.
