C-K Hires Group CD

After searching for a creative star for more than a year, Cramer-Krasselt last week brought aboard Scott Wild, veteran of some of the top creative shops in the country.

Wild takes the new position of group creative director. He will work with and report to executive creative director Marshall Ross, who will now concentrate more on new business and strategy.

C-K CEO Peter Kriv ko vich is not shy about his goal for the Chicago shop: to make it the big gest independent agency in the country. “To do that, we need additional firepower,” he said.

The agency has a reputation for solid but not spectacular creative. “Their complete roster of clients do not do the highest caliber of work, but there are opportunities,” Wild said. “My role is to maximize those opportunities.”

Wild, 36, was an associate creative director at TBWA\Chiat\Day as well as Leagas Dela ney in San Francisco, where he created campaigns for clients including Adidas, Sony and Fox Sports.

His task at C-K will run the gamut, he said, from leading and inspiring the staff to recruiting more employees as the shop grows to creating work himself.

“It’s a place where I can go and make an impact,” Wild said. “That was appealing.”

Krivkovich, who said he talked to roughly a dozen creatives about the job, was looking for someone with top-flight creative credentials who could also manage people. He was clearly enthused about Wild, who has also worked at Wieden + Ken nedy and Fallon.

“Bringing somebody like that into the Midwest is a coup,” Kriv kovich said.
