Bozell’s Wojdyla Opening Shop

David Wojdyla, the No. 2 executive and top creative at Bozell Worldwide’s office here, is leaving to start his own agency.
Wojdyla is calling his shop & Wojdyla to emphasize that it will be a business “that doesn’t just pay lip service to putting the client first,” he said.
“This is easily a 15-year dream,” Wojdyla, 43, said of starting his own agency, which as of last week had only prospective clients and office space that remained under negotiation. Nonetheless, Wojdyla will open the shop Feb. 16, the morning after his last day at Bozell.
Wojdyla has been managing partner and executive creative director at Bozell’s Chicago office since 1995, reporting to executive vice president and general manager Tom Hayden. Before coming to Chicago, he worked in New York at Bozell, Young & Rubicam, Ammirati & Puris (now Ammirati Puris Lintas) and Campbell Mithun Esty. He has worked on brands including HBO, AT&T, Merrill Lynch and the National Pork Producers Council.
Wojdyla said the plan for & Wojdyla is to add to the “pitiful [amount] of work that is both creative and strategic.”
He acknowledges it’s a common goal, but while many agencies make the claim, he said, “You look at the work and they’re lying.”
A replacement for Wojdyla at Bozell was not immediately named.
