Nothing quite says “welcome to summer” like a catchy tune and the sound of a wine spritzer cracking open. Wine brand Barefoot has redesigned its spritzer can for 2018 and is letting the world know with a music video featuring “The Slay Team” and their bouncy new anthem for the summer: “Crushin’ It.” The star-studded Slay Team is made up of actresses Elizabeth Banks, Chrissie Fit and Laura Bell Bundy, along with SNL’s Cecily Strong and Phoebe Robinson of 2 Dope Queens.

In the poppy video, co-produced by Haven Entertainment and MWWPR, the stars break away from the mundanity of everyday life to show that, regardless of life’s challenges, they are still crushin’ it. Each woman colorfully embodies one of the five different spritzer flavors—Rose, Summer Red, Moscato, Red Sangria and Crisp White—which they’re seen sipping throughout the video as they flaunt their dance moves.

“We were thrilled to work with these women, and each one of them embodies our value system of having fun and being inclusive and empowering, said Anna Bell, senior director of marketing. “It was a natural and obvious fit, which you can see in the way the project came together.”

“We really wanted to channel our fiercest alter egos and provide a sense of empowerment to anyone who needs a little reminder that they can crush anything they set their mind to,” said Laura Bell Bundy, member of The Slay Team, and the song’s co-writer and co-producer, along with Jeremy Adelman.

The video is directed by Karla Braun, director of the House of Cards season 6 trailer, and music video veteran Joe Labisi, who has worked with the likes of J-Lo and Drake.

As far as whether fans can expect to see more of The Slay Team in the future, “We love the Slay Team and would love the opportunity to work with them again, and we hope everyone feels the same way,” said Bell. “Stay tuned.”

“I hope we continue to see various versions of the ‘team’ globally— all shapes, colors, and incarnations of it—every woman out there has their own Slay Team,” added Braun.

“Crushin’ It” is available on all music streaming platforms, and the creators hope to see it become one of the most celebrated songs of summer.
