Publicis Groupe has promoted its managing director of Publicis Sapient in Italy, Roberto Leonelli, to chief executive officer for the country–charged with leading its model across digital transformation, data, media and creativity for clients.

Reporting to global chief media officer and chief executive of Western Europe for Publicis Groupe, Gerry Boyle, Leonelli takes an expanded role from leading Publicis Sapient Italy after five years–although he will retain that managing director title in tandem.

He was already a member of the Italian Executive Committee, which was formed in January and includes Bruno Bertelli, Andrea Di Fonzo, Maya Alkury and Francesca Rocca.

“Roberto has demonstrated excellent skills and strong experience to take on this important and strategic role.
