Laura Fegley Joins OKRP as Chief Creative Officer

Her appointment comes as the agency strives to diversify its offerings

O’Keefe Reinhard & Paul, the Chicago-based creative agency better known as OKRP, has appointed Laura Fegley as chief creative officer.

Fegley takes on a role previously held by Matt Reinhard, who founded the agency seven years ago alongside CEO Tom O’Keefe and president Nick Paul. Reinhard will now step into a growth and innovation role within the agency.

Fegley joins OKRP from Colle McVoy, where she served as executive creative director for the past three years. During her time at the Minneapolis-based agency, she oversaw a global campaign launch for Invisalign, in addition to working with brands including Associated Bank, Cub Cadet and the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation.

“I’ve loved working in Minneapolis. I wasn’t looking to leave, but this was just a job that was too interesting,” Fegley said. “The founders [have] an incredible amount of experience. Starting their own place allowed them to break all the rules down and rewrite them in a new way, which I think is really important in the industry right now.”

Fegley has held creative roles at agencies including BBH New York and J. Walter Thompson. She’s also freelanced for a number of agencies such as CPB, RPA and Ogilvy, and has worked on campaigns including Dos Equis’ “Most Interesting Man in the World” and Stouffer’s “Let’s Fix Dinner.”

O’Keefe said Fegley will be responsible for bringing a new perspective to the agency’s work as it continues to grow. This year, OKRP made Adweek’s inaugural Fastest Growing Agencies list. Fegley will also be tasked with “making our work better and keeping our clients happy,” according to O’Keefe.

“We were very deliberate about making sure we found the right person,” O’Keefe said, adding that she “exceeded” the standards for the position. “It was a very important next step for us. We’re very lucky and we’re very excited about the future.”

OKRP is currently in the process of building out its experiential, social and retail capabilities. Earlier this year, it expanded its production studio, Whiskey & Bananas, to a 4,000-square-foot floor below OKRP’s offices.

In March, the Illinois Office of Tourism named OKRP its agency of record. In October, the agency chose not to participate in Groupon’s creative review. OKRP began working with Groupon in 2016, and created the brand’s 2018 Super Bowl spot starring Tiffany Haddish.

Other brands the agency has worked with include Chili’s, Big Lots, Ace Hardware and Home Chef.
