President Donald Trump’s 2018 State of the Union address sparked some 4.5 million tweets Tuesday night, eclipsing the previous record of 3 million for Trump’s first address to a joint session of Congress last Feb. 28.
Twitter said in a Twitter Government tweet that the three most-tweeted moments during Trump’s speech Tuesday night were:
- “We stand for the National Anthem.”
- Discussion of immigration reform proposals.
- Discussion of MS-13.
And the most-tweeted-about people during the SOTU were:
- Trump
- Former President Barack Obama
- Speaker of the House Paul Ryan
Finally, the most-retweeted tweet was Trump’s invitation to join him for the address:
