NEW YORK Arnold’s two new television commercials for Volkswagen position the 2005 Jetta as “All grown up. Sort of.”

The 30-second spots by the Havas shop in Boston, “Airport” and “Independence Day” (which also has a 60-second version), show people who seem grown up in many respects but not all.

In “Airport,” a man is driving prospective business partners to an airport (it was shot at Los Angeles International) in his Jetta. After discussing business prospects in Asia, the man the driver wants to impress reaches to turn on the radio to “check the scores.”
