NEW YORK Fallon topped the finalist list in the general advertising division of the Newspaper Association of America’s 2004 Athena Awards for creative excellence, the organization said on Thursday.

Thirty-eight nominations in four divisions were named. In the general advertising category, Fallon in Minneapolis received two nominations for its Holiday Inn work—one for the “Sparkling, Towels, Celebrity” campaign and one for the single execution “Sparkling”—and for two Finnegan’s restaurant ads, “Leprechaun” and “If Swallowed.”

Lowe in New York received two nominations for two separate campaigns for The New York Times, “Spider, Waterfall, Dog, Piano” and “Compbook, Noodles, Record Label.”
