ISO: Cheap Radio Labor

Harry Jaffe today reports on the growing controversy at the Post regarding the unequal treatment given to reporters who go on Washington Post Radio, WTWP.

Basically, the criterion appears to be that if reporters asks to be paid for such appearances, they are, but if not, they’re not. “The Post should openly and honestly tell people what they are going to pay for certain kinds of work,” Guild head and science reporter Rick Weiss says. “If they pay some reporters 50 bucks a pop, then all reporters should get paid the same amount. That’s honest and good management.”
