'Royalty's' Rosenbaum Coverage Attacked

Hill columnist Duncan Spencer thinks that last month’s coverage of the murder of New York Times reporter David Rosenbaum went way too far. In a column surprising only for its level of vitriol, he blasts the city’s white media “royalty” and their own outrage at crime hitting one of their own, while they so often ignore the horrors of the rest of black Washington.

“Reporters and editors are now D.C. royalty on a level with elected officials, certainly above all but a few private citizens; their tragic (or scandalous) doings (see James Frey, Jack Kelley, Jayson Blair, Stephen Glass et al.)
